【How to take care of jewelry on a daily basis】 By storing it in an airtight container such as a Ziploc bag when not in use, you can prevent silver from oxidizing and sulfuring which causes blackening. We have posted a cleaning method for removing tarnish on our blog, so please take a look.
【Removal of blackening】
Our products are designed to be as durable as possible, so that they can be worn even when sleeping or taking a bath, and throughout the day. However, since our products are handmade, we would like customers to take care of them on a daily basis in order to use them for a long time. The basic care for pearls is to wipe them clean. This is sufficient for everyday maintenance. When wearing pearls, they may accrue one's sweat or oil from hands. Sweat and sebum from the skin are made up of moisture and oil and have an acidic pH. The main component of pearls, calcium carbonate, is susceptible to acids and oils found in sweat, sebum, and cosmetics, but wiping the pearls clean immediately mitigates the problem for the most part. If you make it a habit to wipe them after wearing, you can use them with peace of mind for a long time. Also, be careful with acidic substances such as edible dressings and fruit juices. Hair sprays, perfumes, and nail polish removers can all cause damage to the beauty of pearls, so it is recommended to make it a habit to put on pearls after applying cosmetics. It is recommended to use a pearl cleaning cloth, but any soft and clean cloth will do. Polyester and nylon cloths commonly used for cleaning glasses are suitable for cleaning pearls as they are capable of absorbing both water and oil. They can also be washed if dirty, making them ideal for pearl maintenance. At our store, we provide a storage pouch and a cleaning cloth to our customers who make a purchase
You can also use Brasso instead.

Note! Do not use on anything other than blackened silver beads. For example, pearls or colorful beads.
1.Scoop a little using a cotton swab
2.Rub the black part little by little
It's easy if you grasp it like this. Be careful not to get it on the pearls.
3.Once everything is done, wipe it off with a tissue you have at home.
4.Done
Q. Is it okay if it gets wet?
A. Yes, it is generally safe as we use materials that are resistant to water such as pearls, glass, and silver. However, it is not recommended to leave it immersed in water for a long time (such as half a day). The wire inside is also made of a water-resistant wire coated with Japanese-made coating. Also, there is no concern of colour fading even if you sweat or take a bath. Regarding silver beads, the part that comes into long-term contact with the neck may become blackened due to the sulfur compounds contained in sweat (known as ”smoking”). You can also enjoy the discolouration. If you sweat, simply wash the jewelry lightly with water, wipe it with a soft cloth, and then dry it before storing it to suppress discolouration. However, wearing silver items while soaking in hot springs or in heavily chlorinated pools is not recommended as it will cause discolouration. Hot springs contain sulfur, which causes all silver to become blackened or smoked. If you would like to restore the discoloured part to its original color, please contact us and we will assist you with the process (charges may apply). Please contact us for repair requests through our official LINE. Also, storing silver items in a sealed container, such as a Ziploc bag, can prevent discolouration of the silver. Please refer to our blog post for instructions on how to clean tarnished silver.
Q. How should I handle products made with pearls?
A. Pearls are softer and more delicate compared to other gemstones. However, they are naturally durable and long-lasting. With the proper handling, care, and storage, you can maintain their lustrous appearance for an extended period of time. First, let's understand the weak points of pearls. Pearls are mainly composed of calcium carbonate, so they dislike acid, alkali, and heat. The Mohs hardness of pearls is 4, which is considerably softer compared to other gemstones such as ruby and sapphire with a hardness of 9, and quartz with a hardness of 7. Therefore, be careful not to rub them against metals, hard stones, diamonds, or other high-hardness gemstones. The hardness of human nails is 2.0 on the Mohs scale, so even if you press hard with your nails, it is unlikely to leave a mark on pearls. (*The Mohs hardness scale positions diamond, which is the most scratch-resistant and hardest mineral, as a 10, with lower numbers indicating softer, more easily scratched minerals.)
